Patient Advocacy: Connecting to Patients on a Personal Level
"I make every effort to provide guidance that allows for better choices regarding health and self-management of their disease."
Angela Larson, MSN, RN
I advocate while serving in multiple roles each day: charge nurse, bedside nurse, educator, and mentor / preceptor to colleagues. As a former patient (suffering a stroke and a cancer survivor), I can truly relate to the fears, doubts, and struggles of those in my care. I make every effort to alleviate those concerns by providing care that is specific to the individual in a manner that I hope reflects the greatest care and love.
Having attained an MSN with specialization in the care of diabetes, I educate and counsel patients within the in-patient rehabilitation unit where I work to enable patients to make better choices regarding health and self-management of their disease. Additionally, I serve on multiple committees throughout the organization including - Nursing Care, Professional Practice, & Pain Management.
