ANA PAC is important to me because my first position out of graduate school was Government Relations Director of the then ANA HAWAII Nurses Assn. I soon became the Executive Director, and retained the government relations work.
This was my entree into HAWAII's political scene. We were important players in all health care decisions, and used to have a slogan in the early '80's that 1 in 44 voters was a nurse. I moved on to other executive director nonprofit health and human service organizations, and have appreciated ANA PAC's influence in the spectrum of my career.
