Margie has been an active member of the Texas Nurses Association and Beta Alpha Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau since her graduation. She has held multiple offices at the district, state and national levels within TNA and ANA. Margie completed her five year term as Texas Nurses Association President June 30, 2016. She is now on the Texas Nurses Association Governmental Affairs Committee, Fundraiser for the Texas Nurses PAC and a Board of Trustees Member for the ANA PAC. She began her second term on the ANA PAC Board of Trustees in January of 2019.
Margie is the Director of the Case Management Department for Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Prior to joining Cook Children's, Margie has held several nursing management positions in women, infant and children's services in teaching, county and large tertiary acute care organizations.
Margie received her BSN from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas and her MSN from the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas. She also holds a BA in English from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma and an MA in English from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
