Dori Healey began her nursing career as a licensed practical nurse. She spent 9 years working in various roles as an LPN. After completing her RN, she pursued her master's in nursing with an emphasis on education, her master's in business with a healthcare administration emphasis, and recently completed her clinical nurse specialist. Dori is passionate about providing an inclusive organization and engaging both LPN's and RN's in ANA-Idaho. Dori has a passion to lead, improve nursing culture, and create a robust dynamic organization that fosters nurses throughout the state of Idaho.
Dori is the senior practice manager for heart and vascular at St. Luke's Health System in Boise, Idaho. Dori spent several years as a patient safety specialist where she spent time assisting and developing program implementation across her healthcare organization. As a patient safety specialist, Dori worked to create change, develop policy, and create a safer care environment for both the nurse and the patient. During this time she was heavily involved with creating a scope of practice for medical assistants, helping to create a robust immunization protocol, and initiating change working with multi-disciplinaries throughout her organization.
In addition to her job, Dori is the elected precinct committeewoman for her legislative precinct in Idaho. In this role, Dori is responsible for facilitating voter registration and absentee ballot access. Dori spends time leading get out the vote efforts, distributing campaign and party literature, and addressing voter concerns. Dori works closely with many elected officials and legislators to help with fundraising efforts, meet and greets, as well facilitating conversation between delegates and their constituents.
Dori is married and a mother of two children. She spends time volunteering in the community, including being the chair for Idaho's Ryan's Case for Smiles, a national organization that provides children with uplifting, cheerful pillowcases during their medical treatment. Dori is also passionate about raising money for headstones for children to give closure to parents who may not be able to afford a headstone marker. When there is a need in the community, she is the person who steps in and takes action
